The request is to upgrade the Remedy platform from 9.1.03 to 20.02 and to keep the Model Service Designer functionality:http://https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/ac2002/Searching+and+viewing+CIs+and+relationships+in+the+CMDB+Explorer The documentation states the following: Service models can be created using the following BMC products: BMC Impact Model Designer (IMD) This tool is used when leveraging Configuration Items (CIs) that have been maintained in BMC CMDB administration console The Administration Console is used to create simple service models, which are typically not large in scale and maintained manually. BMC Impact Model Designer is leveraged from BMC Atrium Explorer and uses the same user interface (UI) as that of BMC Atrium Explorer. You can use both of these products to create service models. However, BMC Impact Model Designer contains the following unique functionality that is not available in BMC Atrium Explorer: Creating schedules and time frames for CIs Editing impact management attributes of CIs using the graphical user interface (GUI) When you build a service mode in BMC Impact Model Designer (IMD) and publish it to Infrastructure Management, the CIs are stored in CMDB which is the database used by other BMC products also. https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/ac2002/Building+a+service+model+using+BMC+Impact+Designer When Flash support ends, will the Atrium Core Console keep working? |
BMC TrueSight Product Management has confirmed that there are no plans for migrating IMD to the TrueSight Console. For example, moving the IMD functionality into the TrueSight Console. Users of IMD will need to use an alternative tools such as Atrium Explorer Console or Mid-itier Console as with the Flash deprecation the console will no longer be available. The recommended replacement for IMD is called CMDB Explorer: https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/ac2002/Searching+and+viewing+CIs+and+relationships+in+the+CMDB+Explorer This will be the replacement for more details please contact your BMC Account Manager. |
