Question:

What is required in Linux to install and run Control-M/Agent 7.0.00 (or version 8.0.00 32bit) on a 64 bit platform?
When running jobs or attempting to configure connection profiles, an error similar to the following may be issued in the job output or in the CCM from the Agent:

<Failed to Attach BE Library ./cm/DB/exe/lib_DB_CM.so, error:'DLL './cm/DB/exe/lib_DB_CM.so' can not be loaded, error <libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object f'> , error code <1>

In this case, the libraries mentioned in the error may vary and indicate a different CM or different shared object/library are.  In this case, the Control-M for Databases requires the compat-libstdc++-33 package.
 
 

The following libraries/packages are required to install and correctly run Control-M Agent 7.0.00 (or the 32bit version of Agent 8.0.00) on 64 bit Linux platforms:

For normal operation:

  glibc
  libcurl
  libstdc++
  libgcc
  pam

Required for many CMs/Plugins:

  compat-libstdc++-33

Required if you are using LDAP authentication (via sssd):

  sssd-client

To use the GUI installer:

  libXext
  libX11
  libXtst
  libXi

For application of fixpack:

 ksh (normal install, not forced to 32bit)

In RedHat v6/v7, the 32 bit libraries are suffixed with .i686 (i.e. pam.i686).
In RehHat v5, the 32 bit libraries are suffiexd with .i586 (i.e. libgcc.i586).

if you have a connection to the network, in order to download and install the libraries use 'yum' command as root for RedHat v6/v7
e.g
yum install -y pam.i686
