On Windows

• The %TMP% directory
• The %TEMP% directory
• The %USERPROFILE% directory

Where each of the above is an environment variable defined in the environment of the user running the installation.  The user's environment variables can be listed on Windows using the 'set' command.

On Unix

The installer checks for sufficient temporary space in the following directories:

• The /tmp or /var/tmp directory (depending on the typical temporary directory for that Unix platform)
• The $HOME directory of the user running the installation

Is there any way to direct the installation to look for temporary space in another directory?

On Windows

To override the default temporary output directory locations, you can set the %TMP% variable to the desired output directory before running the setup.exe command.

1) Open cmd prompt

2) set TMP=E:\temp (Set this to your desired temp file system)

3) cd to directory containing the product installation setup.exe binary

4) run setup.exe

This should override the default temp directory for the setup.

On Unix

On UNIX you can set the $IATEMPDIR variable before running the product installation via the setup.sh or setup.bin commands. . If set, the $IATEMPDIR environment variable will override where the installer is extracted, where the installation logs are written, and where the Utilities directory is extracted.

export IATEMPDIR=[location]

For example:

export IATEMPDIR=/bmc/temp
