- What are the configurations required after installing a second Control-M/Agent on a UNIX machine? - How to set up and configure the second Control-M/Agent or multiple Control-M Agents on a UNIX machine?
To install a second Control-M/Agent on the same UNIX machine, the Control-M/Agent software must be installed under a different UNIX user profile than that under which the original Control-M/Agent is installed. If both agents are connected to same Control-M/Server they will need to use a different Logical Agent Name
After installing the second Control-M/Agent on the same UNIX machine, the following configurations are required on the new Control-M/Agent: 1. Ensure that the second Control-M/Agent is defined using a different NodeID on the Control-M/Server. (Only needed if both Control-M/Agents are connecting to same Control-M/Server) 2. Verify that the host is able to resolve this NodeID to the correct IP Address as well from Control-M/Server. (This might require an update to DNS server or the /etc/hosts file, please consult your network admin for assistance) 3. Configure the Control-M/Agent to have a different "Server-Agent Port Number" and "Logical Name" than the original Control-M/Agent has. 4. Run ctmagcfg > Set "2) Server-to-Agent Port Number" to a different available port. (There is no need to update the "1) Agent-to-Server Port Number" as this is the port Control-M Server is listening.) 5. Choose "7) Advanced Parameters" 6. Update the "Logical Agent Name" to be the same as the defined NodeID. 7. Restart Control-M/Agent.
Please run test jobs to ensure that the job is submitted to the correct Control-M/Agent.
