How to setup Control-M Conversion Tool to import CRON jobs from UNIX system in the environment
Regarding CRON jobs, a couple things that must be setup on the PC running the Control-M Conversion tool.
- You must have a Control-M Agent on this PC along with the Conversion Tool. - Ensure that this Agent is discovered and available from the Control-M/Server. - Launch the Control-M Conversion tool, create a new project and select "Cron" for the project type. - On the next screen, select the option "Import data automatically" and set the appropriate scripts location. The bottom of the screen contains the detailed instructions below:
To import data automatically ensure you comply with the following conditions: 1. The Control-M/Agent is running on the same environment as the Conversion Tool 2. The primary Control-M/Server (version 6.4 or later) for the Agent is running and connected, and the Agent is available. 3. The primary Control-M/Server allows execution of the "ctmpsm", and "ctmcreate" utilities by the Agent. (For more information, see "Authorizing which Control-M Server utilities a Control-M Agent can request in the Administrator Guide.) 4. Make sure that you have copied the two script files, "captureScriptUNIX.txt" and "captureScriptWindows.txt" from "<Conversion home>\Scripts\dataCollection" to your Control-M Server.
