Problem

Installing Control-M/Agent on a Windows Cluster returns:

Failed creating cluster resource

Error: GetClusterResourceHandle failed for Resource () with return code (0)

SQL Network Name (xxxxxxxxxxxxx), displayName:CTM Server, serviceName:yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy,

The two field combined cannot exceed 15 chars.

Cause

CAR00043295. It occurs if the "Cluster Group" or "Network Name" is more than 15 characters.

Solution

Legacy ID:KA352594

Workaround:

Before installation, change the Cluster Group and/or Network Name to a short name.
For example, change "Control-M Server" to "ctmsrv"
Run the installation
Optionally, Change the Cluster Group and/or Network Name back to its original name

This problem has been corrected in the Control-M/Agent 8.0.00 base installation.
