Control-M/Agent installation fails with error *** Could not identify operation system name. ***

This error occurs when the installer attempts to execute the sharch script located in the <Control-M/Agent Installer>/Setup_files directory of the installation media.
This error can occur if the installation files are copied from the DVD or other location to a Linux/Unix file system without preserving the file permissions and format. To resolve the issue, please Please download the fresh new installation media from our EPD website and upload to your Linux/Unix file system again.

1. Login to the account from which the installation is being performed
2. Navigate to the setup_files directory where the installation media exists
3. Check that all the scripts in this directory have execute permissions (contact a Unix system administrator for assistance in performing this step if necessary).
4. Reattempt the installation
5. If the installation still fails, remove the existing copy of the installation media and copy again ensuring that the file permissions and format are maintained (contact a Unix system administrator for assistance in performing this step if necessary).
