When opening large outputs/sysouts the Control-M/Enterprise Manager can be slow, how do I limit the sysout size to be viewed? |
The following video demonstrates this article: Via Control-M Configuration Manager (CCM), click in Tools, System Configuration, Control-M/EM System Parameters, then look for the parameter called: ViewSysoutHeadSizeKB and ViewSysoutTailSizeKB. The default 0 is unlimited, you may set the value that best fit to your environment, we suggest to use 100 in each, no need to restart. When this parameter is set, when it reach the value, Control-M will put the following message at Output: *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* The sysout size has exceeded the maximum size set by Control-M administrator and was therefore truncated. The maximum is set either in control-M server OUTPUT_LIMIT_SIZE parameter or in EM system parameters. Showing 100 KB from the beginning and 100 KB from the end. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using Workload Archiving and have these parameters set (at the time the GUI Server being used by Workload Archiving is started), this WILL impact the output retrieved and stored by the Workload Archiving server. To avoid this problem, there are several solutions: 1- (temporarily) unset these parameters and restart the GUI Server used by Workload Archiving. 2- In the EM CCM, EM System Parameters, create a new parameters for ViewSysout[Head/Tail]SizeKB and specifically use the "Name" of the GUI Server to be impacted (not the GUI Server used by Workload Archiving). Ensure the value for Name * is set to a value of 0. |
