The server running BMC Atrium Orchestrator / TrueSight Orchestration (TSO) is out of date, being decommissioned, or otherwise about to become unavailable. Is it possible to move a TSO to a new server while preserving all configurations?
  1. Create the New Servers.
  2. Install new repository server. (Link)
  3. Migrate repo data, pushing from old to new using Repo UI Transfer tool. (Link)
    1. This step is not necessary if using an external database for the repository.
  4. Install new CDP server.(Link)
  5. Configure Grid.
    1. Create and Configure Peers.
    2. Activate and Configure Adapters.
    3. Activate Modules – this had to be done one at a time, because a bulk activation can take more time and sometimes does not complete.
    4. Replicate groups and permissions for activated modules.
  6. Install LAPs "if necessary". (Link)
  7. Install OCP. (Link)
  8. Validate if the new environment works as expected.
  9. Uninstall TSO and Turn off old servers. (Link)


NOTE: You can move a TSO peer from one server to another. The simplest option is to back up the existing peer directories, then decommission the servers. When you commission new servers, assign the same IP addresses to the new servers and place the TSO directories in the same location. This preserves all the peer's existing configurations.

If you must have the old and hew servers running at the same time, you can still move the TSO directories, but you must also edit certain files that contain the peer server's IP address or hostname, so they use the information for the new server:
  1. [TSO_HOME]\server\.jms\disco\*
  2. [TSO_HOME]\server\.jms\broker-config.xml
  3. [TSO_HOME]\server\.jxta\PlatformConfig
