When upgrading Control-M Workload Archiving installed on Linux from 9.0.18.200 to 9.0.19.200, it finished unsuccessfully due to failure to downgrade Archiving DB Password encryption to DES (downgradeDBPassword2DES).

Problem

When upgrading Control-M Workload Archiving installed on Linux from 9.0.18.200 to 9.0.19.200, it finished unsuccessfully due to failure to downgrade Archiving DB Password encryption to DES.

In the Control-M/Enterprise Manager installation log is possible to see following error:

Cause

CTM-3189 - Control-M/Enterprise Manager upgrade on distributed machine with Workload Archiving is failed when environment variable EM_HOME is not well defined and the word "archive" is included in the installation path

Solution

CTM-3189 has been created for this issue and is implemented in version 9.0.20.000.
Install the latest available version to resolve this issue.
