Problem

PATROL Agent fails to start on RHEL 8.
Logs show the following error:

Mon Jun 29 07:30:22 2020: ESS Error: ESS_Policy_BootStrapEE() failed >-1<
Mon Jun 29 07:30:22 2020: ESS Error: PolicyLoad failed -1 >-1<
Mon Jun 29 07:30:22 2020: ESS initialization failed. Exiting....

Cause

RHEL 8 does not have libnsl* files installed by default. These libraries needs to be installed for PATROL Agent successful installation and to setup TLS configurations.

Solution

Install libnsl libraries on the PATROL Agent server and reinstall the PATROL Agent.

libnsl-2.28-101.el8.x86_64

Note - libnsl2 does not work please install libnsl only.
