Summary

BMC ships a single quarterly PTF release with ThruPut source fixes and enhancements. In between these intervals, fixes are shipped as APAR ZAP's which are specific to the PTF level installed. The IBM SMP/e RECEIVE ORDER command cannot ship APAR's; they must be obtained separately using the procedure in this article.

BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) Product Patches website includes a ZIP file download for each supported PTF level. This ZIP file contains an ASCII text file with all GA APAR's for the specified PTF level which can be uploaded to a RECFM=FB, LRECEL=80 dataset for the SMPPTFIN DD allocation used by the SMP/e RECEIVE SYSMODS command.

Answer

Determine the current PTF level:

Issue the “TM D LEVEL” or “F TMSS,TM D LEVEL” command or use TSO TMISPF to launch the ISPF dialog:

Select "3" for Operator Commands
Select "21" for Thruput Manager Functions
Select "6" for Display and place an "S" next to "Level" and hit enter:

Procedure to download APAR maintenance from EPD:

Login to BMC Support Central using your email address and password;
Click on the "Downloads & Products" pull-down menu;
Select "Product Patches";
Enter "ThruPut" in the search window;
Select the correct product;
Click on the supported version - i.e. - look for the box with the green outline around: 22.4.00;
Select the "Patches" tab;
Select the name which matches your PTF level to download the sequential APAR file in .zip format.
Save the ZIP file to your personal computer.
Upload the TMT####.seqapars.txt file to a RECFM=FB, LRECL=80 sequential dataset for use in the SMPPTFIN DD allocation of the sample SMP/E RECEIVE JCL shipped in INSTALL(I$SMP2).
