This was found in Solaris OS but it could affect to any Linux/Unix OS

Problem

- Tried to upgrade PATROL Agent(PA) to 21.3 running in Solaris Server using TrueSight
- The root account was not provided in the deployable package
- Patrol account is able to perform 'sudo su -'
- 'su - ' is not allowed
- Installation logs message sample:

PrePostInstallRunExpectTool:Attempting to run [/opt/bmc/bmc_products/Install/instbin] as [patro_user]
PrePostInstallRunExpectTool:Information: Using su command /bin/su
Prerequisite failure] PrePostInstallRunExpectTool: id command failed, no shell, or root uid is not 0.

Cause

The patrol account password was changed by the Linux admin before upgrading the patrol agent version and includes special characters ( ' )
It seems this was blocking the common installer to complete the 'sudo su -' to grant root permissions

Solution

Update the patrol password and remove any special characters (or at least the ( ' ), which caused the conflict in this case)
