Received message XG3064 when trying to start the Xchange started task.

XG3064 CMSC GP parm member not found

We were upgrading to the latest version of Xchange and are unable to proceed.

Cause

The CMSC parameter member requested was not found. In this instance, Xchange was looking for a CMSCGP PARMLIB member.

Solution

When you modify the CMSCnnnn member (default name: CMSC00), you need to recycle the CMSC. BMC Compuware products will not be impacted by the shutdown of the CMSC. You can still get parameters while the CMSC is down as they are loaded into storage.

To correct, do the following:

Recycle your CMSC subsystem
Confirm in the CMSC JESLOG, FDBDLOG DD:
- MSCSC3303I Compuware global parameter member: CWGLXX
- MSCSC3305I Compuware global parameter DSN: parm.data.set.name
Once confirmed, recycle Xchange

Also, since you defined XCHGXX in the CMSCXX member, it is considered the default and the PARM='SUFFIX=XX ' should no longer be needed in your Xchange startup JCL.
