How to configure a Windows Server 2022 to be used with the Capacity Management for Mainframes products, AMI Capacity Reporting (AMICR), AMI Cost Management (AMICM), Capacity Management Database (CDB) and Visualizer?

Needed Windows features and roles are:

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7 or later
  • WCF HTTP Activation
• Microsoft Message Queuing Server (MSMQ)
• Internet Information Services (IIS) for your version of Windows, with the following items enabled:
  • IIS 6 Management Compatibility Metabase
  • IIS ASP .NET
  • IIS Static Content
  • IIS Windows Authentication At least one configured Web Site (usually Default Web Site) must be present in IIS
  • If using HTTPS then a valid server certificate must be installed in IIS

**Note: If verifying which Roles and Features are already installed on the server, skip down to Step 24 to compare with what is required for the CMM products to install and function properly.


1. Logon to the Windows Server 2019 with a userid that has Administrative rights on this server.
2. Click the Start button and select the Server Manager application.
 


 
3. From the Server Manager menu select Manage>Add Roles and Features.
 


 
4. Click Next on the “Before you begin” screen.
 


 
5. On the “Select installation type” screen, make sure that “Role-based or feature-based installation” is selected and click Next.
 


 
6. On the “Select destination server” screen make sure your server is listed below and click Next.
 



7. On the “Select server roles” screen select Web Server (IIS) role.
 


8. When Web Server (IIS) is selected a pop up box will display showing required features for this role.  Click the Add Features button.
 


 
9. Click the Next button.
 


 
10. Expand the .NET Framework 4.8 features.  Select ASP.NET 4.8.
 


 
11. Under WCF Services select HTTP Activation.
 


 
12. The “Add features required for HTTP Activation” pop up will display.  Click the Add Features button.
 


 
13. Scroll down the Features list, expand Message Queuing and select Message Queuing Server.
 

 
 
14. Click the Next button.   
 


15. On the "Web Server Role (IIS)" screen click Next.
 


16. Expand Web Server and verify the following Role Services are checked.
 


 
17. Continue scrolling down the Web Server roles list and verify the checked roles.  Then click on the Next button.
 


 
18. On the Confirm installation selections screen click Install.
 


 
19. A progress bar is displayed while the features and roles are being installed.  This could take several minutes.
 


 
20. When it is finished you should see an Installation succeeded message.  If the server requires a reboot you will see a notification here.
 


 
21. To verify the required Server Roles are installed on the server get back into the Add Roles and Features Wizard and click Next until you get to the Server Roles section.  Compare the roles selected on your server with what is in the screen shots below.  If anything is missing, simple select it here.  The Roles that are not expanded in the screen shots were already installed on the server before going through this procedure so they can be ignored and you may have other roles that were already installed.  Do not remove any roles that were already there.
 




22. To verify the required Features are installed on the server click Next to get to the Features section.  Compare the features selected on your server with what is in the screen shots below.  If anything is missing, simple select it here.  The features that are not expanded in the screen shots were already installed on the server before going through this procedure so they can be ignored and you may have other features that were already installed.  Do not remove any features that were already there.
 



 
23. If any Roles or Features were found to be missing and were selected, click Next and then Install to install the remaining Roles and Features.
