Unable to install 9.0.21.300 SaaS or On-Prem Control-M/Agent on Linux host when the /tmp directory has noexec permissions

The following errors are received during installation:

SaaS Agent:
$ ./FZ4.9.0.21.300_Linux-x86_64.BIN
Extracting installation
/tmp directory is mounted noexec. Installation cannot continue.

On-Prem Agent:
$ ./setup.sh
/tmp directory is mounted noexec. Installation cannot continue.


Use the variable INST_TEMP_DIR to specify a different directory also fails.

CTM-11671 has been created for this issue and is implemented in the re-release of version 9.0.21.300 for On-Prem on Sept. 25, 2025

Version 9.0.22 or higher of the Agent should be installed to resolve this issue on Control-M SaaS

Note 1:

The fixed 9.0.21.300 binary requires the use of the variable INST_TEMP_DIR to specify a different directory 

The permanent fix without the usage of any variable is added in 9.0.22

Note 2:

When performing agent upgrade using the new image file through deployment in Control Configuration Manager (CCM), the old image file under "$HOME\ctm_server\autodeploy\packages\" directory in Control-M/Server may still be there causing the same error.
Please remove the old image file so the new image file will be downloaded to Control-M/Server.

Alternate Solutions:

1. Temporarily disable the noexec mount option on all mount points that have "/tmp" in the path,  such as /var/tmp, /dev/tmp, etc.
2. Perform the installation
3. Restore the noexec mount option on all mount points with /tmp as referenced in step 1
