The following error message in shown in job's sysout:

Unable to connect to SSH server on '<server>': SFTP_Connect : psftp_connect failed : Server unexpectedly closed network connection.

The problem can be caused by the SSH_AUTH_SOCK environment variable being defined in the "root" user profile or in the Control-M/Agent user profile.

The CM for AFT checks the SSH_AUTH_SOCK environment variable to determine if the authentication is handlled by Pageant (A Putty tool to handle authentication). If this environment variable is present it should contain the PID of Pageant running on the SSH Server.

To confirm this, enable Control-M/Control Module for AFT diagnostic level and check the following message in the <ctm_agent_home>/proclog/aft* log:

"SSH - do_ssh2_authconn: Pageant is running. Requesting keys"

Option 1
Check with the server owner to see if the authentication to the SSH Server has to be done by Pageant.  If the authentication is done by Pageant, the SSH server should have a timeout for authentication.  It should disconnect if the authentication has not been accepted within the timeout period. The recommended timeout period is 10 minutes. Contact the SSH Server administrator to increase the timeout period.

Option 2
If the authentication is not done by Pageant, unset the SSH_AUTH_SOCK variable before starting the Control-M/Agent.  Have the Server owner check to see if the variable is defined in the root user profile and Control-M Agent user profile and remove from both. Then restart the Agent.
