How can I send an e-mail notification when there is a Control-M/Agent unavailability Alert in the Alerts Console of the Control-M Workload Automation Client?
Control-M/Enterprise Manager SNMP capabilities can send alerts to a script to parse the data in a custom script to create emails or alerts.
1. Logon Control-M Configuration Manager 2. Open Control-M/EM System Parameters window 3. Go to Advanced tab 4. Search parameter of 'SendSnmp' and set its value to 1 5. Search parameter of 'SendAlarmToScript' and set its value to the full path and file name of a script you will create later. 6. After setting these parameters you must recycle the gateway(s) for it to take effect.
This script will need to be created on site as BMC Support cannot provide this. In the script, it will be necessary to parse for "Changed to Unavailable" or other desired messages from the Created Alert.
For more information about SendSnmp and SendAlarmToScript parameters, please refer to Control-M Administrator Guide.
