How to free up space on the drive where the agent is installed on the master?
How to move the data from the below directory to another drive?
../master/data/vision64database/patches on my master

There are two ways to free up the space consumed by the patches.

1. Enable "Remove old patches automatically":
Go to Global settings>SystemVariables>Patches

Check the box "Remove the old patches automatically" 

As soon as this option is enabled, the Master will clean up the patches that are currently assigned to any Patch Groups/Patch Jobs at the next service startup.

However these patches are only deleted when they are present in the below default directory.

Windows Master: ..Program Files\BMC Software\Client Management\master\data\Vision64database\patches.

Linux Master:  /opt/bmc/bmc-software/client management/master/data/vision64database/patches

          2. Move the patches from the default directory to another drive:
              Patches get downloaded by default on master in the below directory. And eventually takes up a lot of space on the drive.

   Windows Master: ..\Program Files\BMC Software\Client Management\master\data\Vision64database\patches.

   Linux Master:  /opt/bmc/bmc-software/client management/master/data/vision64database/patches

In order to move these patches to another drive/path and use that path to download and save the patches, follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Create a path for the patches to be moved.

2. Make a backup of the folders ... and a backup the DB, just in case it'd fail at the middle of the process.

3. Edit the file ../master/config/vision64database.ini in windows server or master/etc/vision64database.ini on linux

4. Add the following line under the section "[Directories]" to move the ../data/Vision64database/patches folder into the required new path. (In this example it is D:/Patches)

Patches=D:\Patches

       5. Save the file and restart the BMC Client Management service on the master.

Data contained in these folders will start moving to their new destination folder automatically at service restart. This might take some time if these folders contain a lot of data.
Now onwards, whenever any new patches will be added in patch groups/patch jobs, they will be downloaded in the defined new path.
