Question

We specified and requested that the VMWare CPUs and Memory be dedicated to the TSOM server instances.

The IT team have declined to do this saying that it shouldn't be necessary. We are however, experiencing performance problems with TSOM, could the VM resources be the cause?

Answer

We must reserve the Compute (CPU and memory) resources for the VM on which BMC TrueSight Operation Management Server or any of its components are running to guarantee optimal performance. These are documented requirements.

We have seen performance issues as result of the resources not being dedicated.
