The Control-M/Enterprise Manager client sporadically hangs when opening a viewpoint. Subsequent attempts to open the viewpoint succeed.

Cause

This is caused when network or database latency cause the Control-M/Enterprise Manager GUI Server to take too long to respond and the request times out.

Solution

Set the timeout between the EM/Client and the GUI Server to a larger value, please run the following command from the Control-M/EM Server machine:
"orbadmin variable modify -scope GSR -value 120000 -RTTimeoutPolicy"

After running the command a restart of the Naming Services and Control-M/EM GUI Server is needed:
In Control-M/EM server machine, from command line, run:
orbadmin ns stop
orbadmin ns start

In Control-M/Enterprise Manager client machine, from Control-M Configuration Manager -> Right click GUI Server -> Desired state, choose Recycle.
