Track-It! 9 introduced a new fully integrated Directory Importer interface that allows for greater configuration and control. As a result of the new features, the following steps are required in order to re-enable the Directory Importer functionality after upgrading:
- In Technician Client, click Tools -> Administration Console.
- Under Configuration -> Administration, expand Directory Importer. Take the following steps:
- Click on Directory Service:
- Ensure that the Active Directory service or LDAP server information is entered correctly.
- If you would like Directory Importer to query the directory via anonymous connection, enable the Enable anonymous access option.
- If your directory server requires authentication, disable the Enable anonymous access option and make sure the credentials of an account, which has rights to query the configured directory, are entered.
ie. for Active Directory, enter a domain account. For Lotus Domino, enter a Lotus account.
- Click the Test Login button to verify the credentials.
- Click the Apply button to save your changes.
- Next, click on Directory Importer -> Field Mapping
- Click the Restore Default Mapping button to set the defaults first.
- Next, make sure that the directory field names are mapped correctly to the desired Track-It! fields.
- To select the directory fields, select the field from the Field Name drop-down.
- To map that field to Users and/or Technicians, make sure the associated check box is enabled.
NOTE:
- Some check boxes may be disabled because the field is not available for Technicians or Users.
- If a check box is enabled under Users and/or Technicians but the field name is left blank, the associated fields in the user and/or technician records will be blanked out during the next import.
- For LDAP, at least one Linking Field must be selected between Track-It! and the directory. For Microsoft Active Directory, Directory Importer will use the Security Identifier (SID) as the linking field by default.
- Click the Apply button to save your changes.
- Finally, click on Directory Importer -> Automated Schedule
- Select one of the following options:
- Run the import process once a day..., then enter a time
OR
- Run the import process based on this frequency (the default is 1,440 minutes -- once per day)
- Click the Import Now button to run the import in order to make sure the configuration is correct.
- Click the Apply button to save your changes.
- Click Ok to close the Administration Console.
