Scenario 1: We upgraded to the 20.02 Basic Version of DWP however now it seems that we would have needed the Advanced-Version as this environment is integrated with a Service Broker-Server.

The installer does not allow to run the upgrade again so that we could choose the Advanced-Option. See attached screenshot.


What is the recommended way to upgrade 20.02 Digital Workplace Basic to the Advanced version?

Scenario 2:  If upgraded initially from Smart It 1.6/3.5 To  2.0/18.02 DWP Basic and want to update 2.0/18.02 DWP Basic to 2.0/18.02 DWP Advanced. We run the installer for 2.0/18.02 DWP Advanced , it gives the same error mentioned in the screenshot above.

Pre-requisites:

• We recommend you take all necessary backups before following ReadMe Steps. Also, there is no need to run the DWP Advance Installer again, only run the script.jar as per the readme and it will change the DWP from Basic to Advanced.
• Make sure you have /files/1fcfb43caa99.zip present in the Disk1 folder.
  In other words, we should have the installer (path to the original basic installer) present in the Disck1 folder. 
• Check the video BMC Digital Workplace: How to Change from DWP Basic to Advanced in order to understand the next steps.

1. Kindly download the script.jar file, config.properties, and ReadMe file ( zip file attached)
2. Once downloaded follow the ReadMe.docx to implement which will help update from the Basic to Advanced version

  If the version is 18.05 or higher, then do the following:

3. Remove folder <myit.install.directory>/DWP/dwp/admin
4.  Unzip file Disk1/files/1fcfb43caa99.zip to some folder.
5.  Copy folder dwp/admin/ from the unzipped folder from the previous step to folder <myit.install.directory>/DWP/dwp/

NOTE:  To verify if DWP is Advanced, once you run the script, log in to DWP Admin console, go to Configuration settings, and check if the Location feature is enabled. If yes, DWP is Advanced.
