STEPS to REPRODUCE:

1. After fresh install or upgrade of BMC Digital Workplace to version 20.02.02 (or 20.02.03).
2. Submit request with an approval.
3. Open approval and click Approve or Reject button. Error message appears :

"There was a server error. Please try again.
If this issue persists, please contact your helpdesk for further assistance. "

EXPECTED RESULT:

Approver should be able to Approve/Reject request without error.

The issue is identified as a defect DRIIT-51261, which will be fixed in BMC Digital Workplace Cumulative Hotfix 20.02.03.003.

Below is a workaround that can be used:

- Login to BMC Digital Workplace ->Go to the Admin Console->Configuration->Approval.
- Uncheck any check box (Example : Change approvals) and check it back again.
- Click Save button.

Note: BMC Digital Workplace Tomcat restart is NOT required.



Scenario 2:

Approver gets below error while approving the request



In this case approver is seeing the requests pending for approval in Digital Workplace Application.
The request is submitted by requester belonging to Company A and the Approver is part of Company B and has no access to Company A. However, the approver is still able to see the request in pending approvals My Activity. This is considered defect in the current version of DWP 20.02.03

There is a defect DRIIT-56848 created under which the issue will be fixed in DWP 20.02.03.014.

As part of this defect fix, the requests will be visible to only approvers who are part of the Tenant. Hence they will not see the requests which they don't have access and eventually won't receive the error.
