Question

Why does enabling Audit on Abstract CMDB Classes not capture audit information for CIs created for its child classes?

Answer

- Since abstract classes do not hold CIs, enabling audit on abstract classes is not supported in CMDB.

- One can do the following instead:

1. Enable audit for the required attribute in the abstract class .
2. Enable the audit (Copy/Log) of immediate child classes of the abstract class.

The abstract class attribute audit will be captured in the child class audit form.
