ThruPut Manager may place jobs in “MHS_TM HOLD” when Analysis has failed or abended:
Explanation: This message is issued when a job causes an error in the Job Analyzer.System Action: The job is requeued for execution in the same ThruPut Manager Job Analysis Class in which it was being processed, but it is held.Steps to determine the cause of the MHS_TM HOLD following ThruPut Manager Analysis:
- If the JOB D nnnnnn or $DJnnnnnn,LONG (where nnnnnn is the job number) commands show a job in MHS_TM hold:
- Issue the MHS_TM D nnnnnn command to obtain the reason.
- The full job output may also contain a JAL TRACE if the Analysis failure is due to an action in JAL.
- If the DTM1000I message in the SYSLOG is preceded by ThruPut Manager message "DTM0666E THRUPUT MANAGER ERROR DETECTED", then an error has occurred during ThruPut Manager processing which may or may not have recovered, depending on the details of the DTM0666E message.
- Search BMC Support Central for known problems related to DTM0666E messages.
- If all ThruPut Manage GA maintenance is applied:
- Open a ThruPut Manager case;
- Capture the SYSLOG output for the life of the job (from $HASP100 until shortly after DTM0666E);
- Capture the SYSLOG output for the TM D LEVEL command;
- Capture the TMSS STC output if any DTM* messages indicate: TRACE WRITTEN TO SYSOUT;
- Attach the above outputs to the case as text files;
- Terse any SVC dumps that occured due to a ThruPut Manager abend and FTP them to mft.bmc.com with a filename that contains the case number.
- Note that larger files should be tersed and uploaded via FTP to mft.bmc.com using the instructions in the BMC SFT User Guide for customers. Customers who cannot use FTP can use their web browser to access https://mft.bmc.com.
