How to grant write permissions / assign roles in Helix Dashboards?

From the 24.4 release, you can perform RBAC (role-based access control) tasks only from BMC Helix Dashboards. 

The Reporting Viewer role is renamed to the Reporting Access role in BMC Helix Portal.

Users that have the Reporting Access role are assigned the default Viewer role in BMC Helix Dashboards.

Follow the steps below to confirm that the user has the Reporting Access role in Helix Portal.

1. Access to BMC Helix Portal with an admin account

2. Go to the User access menu and click on Users and keys:

3. Search for the desired user and click on the Actions button.

4. Click on User options:

5. Under Roles, click on Select:

6. Make sure that the Reporting Access Role is assigned by default to the user. The Reporting Access role is Viewer role in BMC Helix Dashboards:

BMC Helix Dashboards provides the following roles: Viewer, Editor, Admin. 

As a reporting administrator, configure the role-based access control (RBAC) to delegate access permissions to users. Based on the assigned roles, users can access the complete or specific dashboard content.  For more information about roles and permissions, see Roles-and-permissions. 

Follow below steps to provide Editor or Admin role from Helix Dashboards.

1. Launch Helix Dashboards from Helix Portal and go to Administration > Users and access > Roles
2. Click on actions opposite to Editor or Admin role which you want to assign to the user.
3. Then click on Manage users to access the list of users

4. Now search for the user and click on the checkbox to assign this specific role and save the changes:
