Question

How can I uninstall Atrium Core Web Services & Web Services Registry?

Answer

This knowledge article may contain information that does not apply to version 21.05 or later which runs in a container environment. Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers.

There are 4 main tasks to uninstall web services components completely:

1. You need to back up %:\Program Files\BMC Software\AtriumCore\AtriumCoreInstalledConfiguration.xml and save it in a different folder location.

Open the %:\Program Files\BMC Software\AtriumCore\AtriumCoreInstalledConfiguration.xml file and ensure you remove the correspondent Atrium WS and their related tomcat reference <values></values>, some samples with highlighted values are shown below:

Note: Below grayed lines need to be removed from the file completely and this applies to Atrium CMDB 7.x versions ONLY.

2. Validate SHARE:Application_Properties form Webservice application ID's where Application ID's equal  "WS00C04FA081BAGJfqSAn7d21ApFsB" and  "WS00C04FA081BAmpfqSAR7F41At1sB" if any -> DELETE .

Note: Below grayed steps applies to Atrium CMDB 7.x versions ONLY.

  To uninstall web services components completely:
2.1. Run the uninstall script located in BMCAtriumCoreInstallationDir/UninstallBMCAtriumCore. The uninstaller removes services, folders, and registry entries related to all of the BMC Atrium Core web services.
2.2. (Windows) Reboot the computer when directed by the uninstaller.
2.3. Clean up the database web services remanents:
(Oracle)   Drop the database role, user, and tablespaces that were created for persisting web services components metadata during installation.
(MSSQL) Remove the database.

3. After uninstalling the features, you can rename the shared and wsc folders located in AtriumCore home directory ( as _shared and _wsc), or simply delete them.

4. Delete all Atrium Core related files located in %Temp% or /tmp folder.

Important: You can remove the tomcat service that hosted AWS via Registry Edit in Windows. (For Windows only)
