What are the Relay module recommended parameters and how to apply them if BMC Client Management is already installed on Devices?
Relay parameters can be changed on one or several devices using the Relay Module Setup action in an Operational Rule.
1. If the rule is for the relay devices, then it is a must to check the "Is Enabled" box. This will enable the Relay functionality to the device. If it is for the client devices, the Box should be unchecked.
2. It is recommended to use the 'Relay Selection Mechanism' with at least two mechanisms. This way if the main Relay is out of order then Client devices can use a secondary/backup Relay while waiting main Relay to be back online Check the boxes in front of the parameters that need to be updated.
3. 'Parent Relay' parameters should be set as follows, note that 'Reselection Interval' must be set to 0 if only one mechanism is activated. In the case of several mechanisms, it should be 3600 seconds.
