Which using the step "Join Computer to Domain" it fails with the error " _MSDN_ERROR_CODE_"


and it is failing with the below error logs which can be found  in %WINDIR%\debug\NetSetup.log:

Console Error message on Operational Rule details:

Solution:

• Upgrade BCM to 20.08 which has fix for this issue.

Workaround: Verify if the step is correctly configured.

Step 1: Meet the prerequisites:

a) Make sure Domain administrator account exist on Domain Controller. Also, make sure it has full Domain Administrator rights.
b) Target device should be able to resolve the domain correctly.

 Step 2: Create an Operational rule with Step  " Join Computer to Domain "

Syntax of this step should be like this:

• Domain: Name of the Domain
• User Login: Should be like this Domain\Username. For example: BCMBeta\test
• User password: Password of the domain account.
• Organizational unit= (this is optional) must use syntax like OU=OUNAME
• Reboot= Should be check

Step 3: Assign this rule to the target device and this should fix the problem.

In case if the issue still persists then wait for next hotfix and verify or contact BMC Customer support.
