How to add a new product to the list of available filters available in a TSSA Windows Patch Catalog? Or How to customize the existing Product_categories.xml file to add a new filter to the available filters for a Windows Patch Catalog?
In addition to native Windows OS patches, TSSA offers patching support for numerous non-OS products. The list of all the available products can be seen from the Filters list when creating/editing a new Windows Patch Catalog:
iVanti updates the product list from time to time and it is possible that some of the latest products may not be visible/included in the existing TSSA Catalog filter list.
Please see the following steps for a demo of how to update the product_category.xml file
Note-
The steps mentioned in documentation include generating a list of available products from Ivanti and then editing/importing the product_categories.xml file so that the latest products are listed in the filter list.
This activity does not require any TSSA downtime.
If the desired product is not listed in the list of available products then the product is not supported by Ivanti
Please raise a case with BMC Support if an expected product is not present in the generated list
BMC Customer Support can raise a case with Ivanti and provide confirmation on whether the product is actually supported or not
