Problem

In the Control-M for SAP Log, cmsap<Date Time>.log, the below error is shown:

Cause

Not having the needed entry in /etc/services

Solution

In order for Control-M for SAP to connect using logon groups, an entry must be added to the services file

1) Edit the /etc/services in Unix or <Drive>:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\services in Windows
2) Add an entry with the following format: sapms<SAP SID> 36<System_Number>/tcp.
For example: sapmsPI8 3600/tcp
3) Contact the SAP Administrator for the correct values to use in <SAP SID> and <System_Number>
4) Stop the Control-M for SAP java connector: sapcmbe.sh stop (Unix) or sapcmbe.cmd stop (Windows)
