Problem

The error "CM: Failed to map user to local user" is reported by the BMC Server Automation (BSA) Console when attempting to access a target Server.

Cause

multiple possible causes

Solution

This error is due to to the role/user not being mapped on the target Server to an incorrect local user. The rscd.log on the target Server will verify the role/user being user to connect to the Server. This can be used to then update/correct the ACLs for the Server's RSCD agent.
