- Getting error message when performing a file transfer using Control-M for Advanced File Transfer (AFT) or Failed to verify an Control-M for AFT Account in Account Management
- The error message is similar to:
Unable to open connection to FTP server - SFTP_Connect : psftp_connect failed : WARNING - POTENTIAL SECURITY BREACH! The server's host key does not match the one PuTTY has cached. This means that either the server administrator has changed the host key, or you have actually connected to another computer pretending to be the server. The new key fingerprint is: ssh-dss 1024 78:e9:24:d5:52:07:12:a3:d7:16:56:fa:05:e5:6c:32 - Connection abandoned.

This may happen after a hostname or ip address changed or if the host key on the sftp server is regenerated.

 

Follow these steps to resolve this incident:

1. Launch the Control-M Configuration Manager (CCM)
2. Select the Control-M for Advanced File Transfer Module on the Contorl-M/Agent that is managing this Control-M Module
3. Right-click and select the option "Authorize SSH Host".
   The Authorize SSH Known Host dialog box appears.
4. In the Host Name field, type the name of the host that need to be authorized.
   This will be the SFTP server involved in the transfer for where the above error message is generated.
5. In the Port field, type the SSH port of that host.
6. Click Authorize.

If the Control-M for Advanced File Transfer Version is 7.0.00, do upgrade it to Control-M/Agent for Advanced File Transfer 8.0.00 or higher.

Additional Information: - Even though the error message mentioned "host key does not match the one PuTTY has cached", there is no need to remove PuTTY if installed. PuTTY doesn't conflict with Control-M for Advanced File Transfer AFT. The message appeared because Control-M for AFT uses PuTTY's SSH library.
