Control-M Server on Windows runs without problem.
But when I run the data collector it returns the following:

Cause

This happens when the ctmuser (database owner) password is entered incorrectly.
In a BMC Supplied Postgres environment psql can be run in the following way to confirm this:
[Control-M Server directory>\pgsql\bin\psql.exe -U[your ctmuser] -d[DBNAME - usually ctrlm800 ctc.]
For example:

C:\Program Files\BMC Software\Control-M Server\pgsql\bin>psql.exe -Uctmuser -dctrlm800
Password for user ctmuser:
psql (9.0.4)
WARNING: Console code page (437) differs from Windows code page (1252)
8-bit characters might not work correctly. See psql reference

Type "help" for help.

To exit use "\q"
 

Solution

If the login fails, the password does not match.

Either obtain the correct password or re-set the user password in accordance with the following Knowledge Article:
