How to configure Batch Impact Manager (BIM) to send alert email?
How to resolve this error message: CtmBim_AlertEmail::SendAlertMail(thread XXXX) SMTP: Cannot connect to the specified mail server?

From BIM server log:
05/07/2023 10:01:49.851 [1] ctm_bim_alert_email CtmBim_AlertEmail::SendAlertMail(thread 3427575552) Failed to send e-mail notification to < xxxx > from sender < bim@bmc.com> via e-mail server <mail> Error: Unknown SMTP host: mail

NOTE:  Do not include a space in the EmailSender parameter as this will cause the email not to be sent and there is no obvious error in any log indicating that it is failing.

Solution:
For BIM to send out the e-mail notification, the following need to be configured:

1. Launch Control-M Configuration Manager (CCM)
2. Click on the "Control-M EM" in the Components Windows and select "System Parameters" under "Home" Tab
3. Click "Advanced" on the left panel of the "Control-M/EM System Parameters" Windows
4. Find the "EmailServer" system parameter and set it to the SMTP Server Host name (Default is "mail")
5. Find the "EmailSender" system parameter and set it to the Sender E-mail Address for Alerts )Default is bim@bmc.com)

Additional Information:
- EmailSender: E-mail address from which alerts are sent. Default: bim@bmc.com
- EmailServer: Name of the e-mail server for alert notification. Note: This value must be set after installation. Default: mail
