Not all parameters updated by editing EmailDaemon.properties file are syncing to Centralized Configuration. The same is true for updates to Centralized Configuration for these parameters not syncing to the EmailDaemon.properties file. Isn’t there an automatic sync-up of configuration between configuration files and Centralized Configuration? |
This knowledge article may contain information that does not apply to version 21.05 or later which runs in a container environment. Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers. There is automatic sync-up between EmailDaemon.properties and Centralized Configuration with exception of the following configuration parameters: • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.serverName.TCP
• com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.serverName.Password • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.serverName.Language • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.serverName.Interval • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.servers • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.serverName.RPC • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.serverName.Authentication • com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.companionservername
• com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.RMIPORT = 1100 These parameters are included in EmailDaemon.properties file at install of Email Engine and are needed and used by the Email Engine at startup and connection to AR Server. As they are startup parameters, they are not available to the Email Engine in Centralized Configuration and there is no functional reason for them to be included in Centralized Configuration. As such, there is no syncing of these parameters between the EmailDaemon.properties file and Centralized Configuration. They can be manually added to Centralized Configuration but will be present as reference only. This is as-designed and is not considered to be a defect. A defect has been submitted for evaluation by engineering for confirmation and clarification in documentation: see SW00528590.
