In Control-M/Enterprise Manager 9.0.00 and higher version the manual failover is not working since the Configuration Manager Server starting is taking too much time to start in the secondary node.

In fact, the primary machine checks the Configuration Manager Server on secondary machine and if it is not started in short time, it considers it as unavailable and can rollback the failover.

 

CAR00178835 has been created to track this issue and has been implemented in Control-M/Enterprise Manager 9.0.19.100.
Install the latest available Version or Fix Pack and then add the following parameters to resolve this issue:

1. From the Components tree of the CCM (Control-M Configuration Manager), select Control-M EM, then select System Parameters > Advanced, and add 2 parameters (please see the screenshot how to configure them):



    Set the HAPartnerLifeCheckInterval to 15
    Set the HAPartnerLifeCheckRetries to 50

2. Restart the Configuration Agent on both the Primary and Secondary EM Servers.
