The TrueSight Infrastructure Management (TSIM) server is taking time to startup.
Also, in some cases, one can see an issue on performance overview Tab on TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS) while selecting the metric for Threshold, the threshold is not visible on graph for few instances. However ALARM events are generated and one can see the Global thresholds on TSPS console as well.

The <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/logs/TrueSight.log contains the following messages:

To find out the instances, without parent object, please execute below queries from <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/bin:

Output for each query should be 0. If the result is not zero then put in place the attached daily jobs script which will regularly clean the 'instances without parent objects' from the database. Below are the steps:
 

Windows:
 

1. On the TSIM (Standby,Primary,Secondary) take a backup of the file daily_job.bat present at location <installationdirectory>\pw\pronto\bin
2. Download the package dailyjobs.zip attached to this article
3. Extract the package dailyjobs.zip
4. Copy the daily_job.bat file from the package and replace it with the one at location <installationdirectory>\pw\pronto\bin

Linux:
 

1. On the TSIM (Standby,Primary,Secondary), take a backup of the file dailyjobs present at location <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/bin
2. Download the package dailyjobs.zip attached to this article
3. Extract the package dailyjobs.zip
4. Copy the dailyjobs file from the package and replace it with the one at location <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/bin

If you wish to immediately delete the orphaned entries from the database rather than wait for the dailyjobs to work, then follow these steps: 

For High Availability:

1) Stop TSIM standby server by executing "pw sys stop"
2) Stop TSIM active server by executing “pw sys stop”
3) Take backup of Oracle DB instance
4) Run below from command prompt (path: <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/bin). This will remove the invalid entries.

5) Restart the active TSIM server by executing "pw sys start"
6) Once the Integration Services and PATROL Agents are connected, start the standby TSIM server.


For Standalone:

A. Steps for Oracle Database:

1) Stop TSIM server by executing "pw sys stop"
2) Take backup of Oracle DB instance
3) Run below from command prompt (path: <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/bin). This will remove the invalid entries.

B. Steps for Sybase Database:

1) Stop TSIM server by executing "pw sys stop"
2) Take Database backup by copying 'storm_<HOST_NAME>.db' and 'pronto.log' files from the "<installationdirectory>/pw/sybase" directory to backup location.
3) Start the database process by executing "pw p s dbsrv"
4) Verify that the database process is up and running by executing "pw p l"
5) Run below from command prompt (path: <installationdirectory>/pw/pronto/bin). This will remove the invalid entries.
