Adobe has announced the end-of-life for Flash, after which Adobe Systems will officially stop updating and distributing Adobe Flash.  Below are Adobe's announcements:

The major browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft's Internet Explorer, will no longer support Adobe Flash at the end of 2020. Until its removal, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have, by default, disabled Adobe Flash and require explicit permissions from the user to activate it on a website. However, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge continue to support Adobe Flash until its removal.

How will this Adobe Flash end-of-life announcement affect the TrueSight App Visibility and TrueSight Synthetic Monitoring components?

App Visibility Portal, App Visibility Collector, and App Visibility Proxy
These App Visibility Manager components will not be affected when Adobe Flash is end-of-life.

App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET
The App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET agents does require Adobe Flash to view the trace details in the Application Flow tab.  See below for more information about these trace details:

Adobe Flash is required to view the code level details as well.  See below for more information:

In order to continue view the trace details and code level details, below are two options:

Option 1
Use the Harman browser (https://services.harman.com/partners/adobe) as Harman has an exclusive agreement with Adobe to provide extended licensing and support agreements for enterprise Adobe Flash Player. Harman will offer support and security updates to Adobe Flash Player until the end of 2023 and beyond.

Option 2
Use Adobe Enterprise Enablement for legacy web browser versions. This option is the same as preserving a version of the web browser that supports the most recent version of Adobe Flash.  For instructions on using Adobe Enterprise Enablement, see the following BMC video:

FAQ #2) If the TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS) is upgraded to version 11.3.04 while App Visibility Manager is still on version 11.3.03 (which is a supported configuration), what happens or what affect will it have on the App Visibility Agent for Java and App Visibility Agent for .NET components and Flash?

Answer: The transaction tracing and deep-dive views are still Flash-based and will no longer be available after Flash is end-of-life.
